This car show poster was clearly made by a 12 year old... on meth.

Like holy shit, there’s at least 25 fonts on this poster. (and so many low res jpeg logos)

Budding graphic designer here. The designer of this might hate it as much as you do for the reasons you state. The brass behind the event may make you slap on all those sponsors, dates and other text walls, and won’t even provide you with good logos. It’s very aggravating. Guess how I know.

Architectural Intern here, there are ways to not make it look like crap. Things like: using a grid, hierarchy, limited fonts, using legible fonts, not using serif fonts, not just throwing clip art on the page, and using monochrome versions of logos.

Again, some of these might not have been the designer’s call. I mean you’re not wrong, but it’s still hard to do what you know it right when even though your role is quite integral you’re still pretty low on the totem pole. I’m sure the fuckwits I worked with would think this looks perfect.
